The perks of having friends living abroad is that you always have a vacation spot 🙂 Better yet, they can show you all the cool places where the locals hang, wine and dine. It’s the best way to get to know a country and it definitely is the most fun way.
One of the many things my bff and I have in common, besides traveling, is our love for good food. So naturally, whenever I visit her in Los Angeles, we always have to have at least one meal at The Griddle cafe.
It is THE place to be for an awesome breakfast or lunch, a real LA hotspot. So popular in fact, they even have their own merchandise!
Unfortunately that also means it’s always packed and sometimes it takes a while before you get a table. But, it’s definitely worth the wait!
The Griddle’s menu is A-MAH-ZING! You can have your eggs in a dozen different ways, there’s a large variety of yummy sandwiches, fabulous coffees and other drinks.
The dishes and beverages all have creatively funny names and give a fitting description of what you’re about to order.
But, what you really need to do is order the pancakes! You gotta try the pancakes, they are simply to die for! I have yet to find a place anywhere really, not just in LA, where they serve such awesome pancakes! There really is no better way to start your day!
Don’t worry about not being able to finish what’s on your plate! The first time I went there, I was told you are not meant to finish it. That’s why they always have a large pile of empty foam boxes stacked near the register for the near comatose guests to fill up with their leftovers. The doggiebag with pancakes my friend and I took home with us that day, provided us breakfast for the next three days!
