Ohana means family, nobody gets left behind or forgotten!

Family is not always about blood, sometimes it’s about who is there to hold your hand and support you when you need them!

Yesterday one of my oldest dearest friends got married. She and I have known each other since preschool and we still hang out with our girlfriends from way back then. We laugh till our tummies hurt and tears roll down our cheeks, we eat candy and chocolate and we talk about boys. It’s like time stood still and nothing has changed. Like little girls who haven’t a worry in the world.

Only we aren’t the little girls we used to be anymore. Instead of school in the morning we have jobs and the boys we talk about are our husbands, kids and nephews. The only thing that hasn’t changed is our friendship. We still always have each other’s back just like when we were little girls.

They say blood is thicker than water, but I say friends are the family we choose for ourselves. And sometimes they make more of a difference than blood! They help you up when you are down, are stong for you when you are weak and hold your hand when you need love. And though you accumulate a lot of ‘friends’ around you over the years, in bad times you get to know who the real ones are. Your friends, your chosen familymembers. The ones who leave footprints on our heart.

Thank you!!!!
